When I was younger (and still to this day)
A Culinary Odyssey with Bompas and Parr
How do you make dull kitchen products more interesting? You invite Bompas & Parr along to create an event around it! I’m no diabetic and not the dieting kind but after last year’s Truvia event on the roof of Selfridges I must admit I was close to swapping sugar for the all natural sweetner – so I am in no doubt that if you visit my home in a month’s time you might just find an unused KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixer.
On Wednesday 21st March Bompas and Parr will be hosting (in honour of Kitchen Aid’s new gizmo) a Culinary Odyssey… a journey into the future of food! And it seems like they have some tricks up their chef white sleeves for this one. Having worked with food designers, micro-nutritionists, set builders and biochemists, they have concocted a sci-fi movie worth of treats including Milk Plus (see A Clockwork Orange – doubt there’ll be real drugs in there though), a cookie of nostalgia (which is apparently a Matrix thing, I wouldn’t know) and even a Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster (And to quote Hitchiker’s Guide “The effect of a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster is like having your brains smashed out by a slice of lemon, wrapped ’round a large gold brick” – can’t wait!)
The event will be held at One Marylebone and tickets will go one sale from JellyMongers at 12noon, 8th March for £5 (I’d pay that for the Pan Galtic Gargle Blaster alone).
UPDATE: More tickets will be released at 12noon on Monday 19th March from JellyMongers – although if the last set was anything to go by it will be more like 1:27pm.
