I really wish I had a cooler story for how
Book Slam & Bombay Sapphire @ Village Underground
Book Slam is one of my favourite London events… in fact if you take a look at my top 10 in the Bloggers Picks section of TimeOut’s 101 Things to do in London you will see Book Slam at number two (although they were in no particular order).
BUT if I had to make one complaint it would be that there isn’t enough free alcohol… cue Bombay Sapphire!
On Thursday, Book Slam will find it’s temporary new home away from it’s previous haunts of The Tabernacle and The Clapham Grand and instead set up for one night at Village Underground. In collaboration with Bombay Sapphire, they’ve created a literary-infused, 19th Century gin palace.
Book Slam nights see top writers, poets and musicians performing live to an unpretentious crowd of literature fans. Other than the location and free alcohol, Thursday promises to be no different with Joe Dunthorne, author of Submarine (and new book Wild Abandon); poet Ross Sutherland; jazz and soul singer Eska and Bafta Award winning Jeremy Dyson (League of Gentlemen and Ghost Stories).
If you don’t manage to get tickets for this one make sure you visit Book Slam to find out more about their next event and head over to Bombay Sapphire’s Facebook page to check out and apply for tickets for the other events in their Imagination Series… next up is Rebel Dining Society!
