I really wish I had a cooler story for how
So we all know the I’m obsessed with London, but this post combines two of my other obsessions ,vinyl toys and trainers. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Air Force 1, Nike has teamed up with Be@rbrick on a new capsule collection including limited versions of the Nike Lunar Force 1, the Nike Destroyer [...]
It’s pre-season for Christmas sales and we’re in training. Elbows, knees and nails at the ready ladies and gents, this weekend sees one of my favourite shops and a few of my favourite brands host sample sales. Present kicks us off on Thursday with up to 90% off the likes of Comme des Garçons, Beams, [...]
One of my first ever posts for Obsessed with London was on an H&M collaboration (that time it was Lanvin’s), ever since Rei Kawakubo’s collaboration 3/4 years ago, the queuing around the block has been a mainstay on my calendar each year (although that allotted time seems to get longer every year). But if we [...]
The first weekend of September The Royal Opera House plays host to Deloitte Ignite 2011, a contemporary arts festival curated by internationally renowned film director, composer and writer Mike Figgis (see Leaving Las Vegas). “Over the three days we will be able to listen to interesting opinions, watch stunning performances, take in a large number of [...]
Collaborations are two a penny at the moment, but very few have the true spirit of artistic collaboration, it’s more of a marketing technique to ‘sell more units’. A couple of weeks ago in Another Mag, Tom Ford gave his top five lessons on how to be a modern gentleman and while I am a huge fan of Tom Ford, I was shocked and appalled to see his fifth point. A man should never wear shorts in the city. Flip-flops and shorts [...]
For those who don’t know, INSA is a street artist (he does some fine art too). His work plays a lot around fetishes, particularly heel fetishes (but not in a creepy way). He even has a site (INSA-heels) dedicated to selling his particular kind of heel. While brands are falling over themselves to work with [...]
A.P.C. (‘Atelier de Production et de Création’ – if you care) are opening their second London flag ship store – the first is on Dover Street (home of the infamous, Rei Kawakubo created fashion store, Dover Street Market).
H&M have collaborated with some of the world’s finest, our particular highlight was CDG’s collaboration a couple of years back… still very bitter that an ex girlfriend (http://365daysoftokyo.posterous.com/ – go and give her grief) shrank my CDG x H&M cardigan… but I should probably get over that!
