Future Cinema California Classics – 3rd and 4th Sept
Last week, while discussing great times had at Secret Cinema we became a little worried that Secret Cinema had truly gone underground and had forgotten to drag us down with them. Thankfully, at least for now, this is not true and they seem to be content with being the worst kept secret on the London event scene, as they announced they would be back in… wait for it… November.
But not all is lost… Future Cinema, the creators of the now infamous Secret Cinema, had it’s own little announcement for us today:
On the 3rd and 4th of September, Future Cinema in partnership with California Tourism will transform a secret London space in to the world of 80′s California for immersive screenings of The Lost Boys and Top Gun.
And if there’s two moves that shaped my adolescent years it was these two… for a long time I couldn’t decide whether I wanted to be a pilot or Corey Feldman (strange how things turn out!). Luckily I am going to be able to live out one of these fantasies as 8000 Londoners will be able to become Californians for one immersive night over the first weekend of September. Little worried the immersion might involve eating worms and maggots out of chinese take-out cartons… but guess there’s only one way to find out!
As with all Future Cinema/Secret Cinema events these tickets are going to sell out fast so get in there quick. Tickets are £25 (+fees) and will go on sale from WeGotTickets at 12noon Tuesday 2nd August. More info here http://www.welcometocalifornia.co.uk/
Oh and if you were wondering what the Top Gun trailer would be like if Tarantino is to be believed (see Sleep With Me), it’s a little something like this…
