When I was younger (and still to this day)
The Fringe 2012
Okay so I’ve been avoiding mentioning the Olympics, not because I’m a hater (much) but because we’ve still got 46 days to go and the first wrinkles of Olympic fatigue are already starting to appear. But on cue to inject a little excitement into proceedings, we’ve just been reminded that the Olympics isn’t all sport and unashamed patriotism but also about drinking in style.
The Fringe 2012, a pop-up private members’ club, is offering a different angle on the Olympics and a cool respite from the mania of the games. Set in a four storey Victorian warehouse and stable house, only 100m (or under 10 seconds if you’re Usain Bolt) from the Olympic Park, The Fringe will offer premium food, bar and cocktail lounges and LCD screens broadcasting the main Olympic events as well as the best of British food at their ‘Great British Food Market’. With bespoke cocktails coming from Sweet&Chilli, anyone for a Ginford Christie?
The venue will open on July 20th until September 9th. Individual tickets start from £90 per day with the option of multiple day tickets and group bookings.
